Do you answer the door?

3D rendering of a compass with a Opportunity icon.

It happened just the other day. “Do you have a few minutes to chat?” For you, of course!

And then it happened. Opportunity. Right there in front of me. A little daunting, a bit frightening, kind of exciting.

It would have been easy to say thank you and pass. But this opportunity is unique. It’s interesting. It’s about a topic I love. It will require a skill that would be useful and interesting to develop. And I’m honored that I was asked to be a part of this exciting venture.

I think I (maybe?) waffled a little. It happens! I know that I will give it a great deal of thought and do my best to make it good. I know that I have a community that will support me as I gain confidence and that will nudge me if I go off track.

I decided (even with the waffles) because it felt right. Scary can still be right.

I look forward to seeing how this will play out, and I’ll keep you filled in.

How do YOU know when an opportunity is worth it?  Leave a comment and let me know….

Until next time,

  2. Thank you for posting. I have an opportunity and have been contemplating. However, I cannot think of an opportunity that isn’t worth it. Thanks Noree!

    • Hi Gwen, I’ve come to believe that some opportunities are best left to pass right by me! Good luck with your contemplating. I look forward to hearing more about it.
